General

What is DailyBrew?

DailyBrew keeps track of who's working. Staff scan a QR code at the door to clock in and out, and you see who's in, who came in late and who's off. Shifts, closed days and leave all live in the same place.

Who is DailyBrew for?

Cafés, bars, bakeries, restaurants — anywhere a handful of people work shifts. You run the shop: staff, shifts, hours, the lot. Managers get only what you hand them — leave, hours, staff, shifts, closed days, any mix of those. Everyone else scans the QR code and gets on with the day.

Is there a mobile app?

There is, on the App Store and Play Store. On the free plan it's how staff check in: they open the app and scan the QR code on the wall. On Espresso nobody has to install it — any phone with a camera can scan the code and check in straight from the web. The app still makes it smoother: it keeps staff signed in, remembers their phone, adds NFC tap-in, and nudges managers when something happens.

Plans & billing

What do you get on the Free plan?

Up to 10 staff, QR check-in, shifts, closed days, the Today screen and your whole history. Free forever — no trial clock, no card.

What do you get with Espresso?

Espresso takes you to 20 staff and adds leave, different hours each day, and the three ways to tighten check-in: Shop WiFi only (IP restriction), Near the shop only (geofencing) and One phone per person (device verification, which is what stops buddy punching). You also get up to 2 managers with permissions you pick, push, email and Telegram alerts, and a summary at the end of each day.

How much does Espresso cost?

$19.99 a month, or $199 a year if you pay yearly — which saves you $40.88 over twelve monthly payments.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. No contract, nothing to sign out of. Cancel from Shop settings and Espresso stays on until the end of the period you've already paid for.

Check-in & hours

How does QR check-in work?

Your shop has one QR code. Print it and put it where staff walk in. On the free plan they scan it in the DailyBrew app and tap Check in, then scan again and tap Check out on the way home. On Espresso the code also works from the phone camera: they tap Check in on the page that opens, with nothing to install. The app keeps them signed in and remembers their phone.

What is geofencing?

Near the shop only — geofencing, if you've met the word before. You drop a pin on the shop and pick how close staff have to be, and a check-in only counts from inside that circle. It's how you know somebody actually turned up rather than clocking in from bed.

What is IP restriction?

Shop WiFi only — IP restriction, in the technical phrase. Check-ins go through on your shop's own internet and nowhere else. Somebody scanning from mobile data down the road gets a message telling them to join the shop WiFi first.

What happens on a closed day?

Mark the days you're shut — a public holiday, a week of building work — and nobody's expected in. No absences, no lateness, nothing to explain afterwards.

Manager role

What is the manager role?

Promote somebody you trust and pick exactly what they can touch: staff, shifts, closed days, leave and hours, each one on or off. A head waiter might only handle leave. A co-runner might get everything except billing and settings.

What can a new manager do?

A new manager starts with leave and hours — they can approve time off for anyone and see everybody's day. The rest of the switches stay off until you turn them on, from that person's profile.

How many managers can I have?

Two on Espresso. Double Espresso lifts the cap entirely.

How do I make someone a manager?

Open their profile and change their role to manager. They need an account joined up to your shop first, because managing happens signed in. A “Manager permissions” card appears underneath — flip on whatever they should handle. You can put them back to staff whenever you like.

What can't a manager do?

Whatever you grant them, the shop itself stays yours. A manager can't rename or delete it, change the check-in rules in Shop settings (Shop WiFi only, Near the shop only, One phone per person, the timezone), touch billing, make new QR codes, or promote anybody. Those stay with the owner.

Account

How do I sign up?

Hit “Get started” on the homepage, sign up with an email — or with Google or Apple — and give your shop a name. From there you add your staff and print your QR code.

Can I use Google or Apple to sign in?

Yes, both. Use Google or Apple when you sign up, or join one to an account you already have, later, from your profile.

How do I reset my password?

Tap “Forgot password” on the sign-in page and give us your email. A link lands in your inbox; it works for an hour, then you ask for a fresh one.
